Dying Eggs

The best part was when Steven kept asking me to take a picture of him with his egg. Adorable! Thanks mom for supplying the supplies.

Kent and Lisa

It is always interesting to down load and started editing a set of photos. Especially after a long weekend. I am always surprised with what I end up having. Image heavy on one area and lacking in another is a tendency of mine. Sometimes I miss a whole event or a person.  sometimes the camera the is a distraction from being in the moment, neglecting my duties or being considerate. Plus the human limitation of only being able to be in one place at a time. I need to eat and sometimes just enjoy visiting. These factors contribute to what I end up photographing and what I don't.

One trouble from this weekend was that I have zero photographs of our time with Kent and Lisa. This is surprising because we spent the most time with them then anybody else that weekend. We had a great time with them as always. They are always so generous and hard working. Lisa cooked and worked so hard to feed us and give us beds to sleep in. The children dyed easter eggs together and watched some fun shows. It was lovely. Thanks so much Kent and Lisa!

Baby You Can Drive My Car

If You Could Hie To Kolob

Instead of our usual trip to Zion on Easter weekend we spent some time in Kolob Canyon. It was much easier to get in and out and less crowded. It felt special and exciting. I missed Zion, but I didn't miss the +3 hours waiting in lines. We were happy to be with family (which is the most important) and scope out a new place (bonus).  We will have to keep exploring to find the best spots for wading and hiking.

Golden Birthday

When Margaret was three Clara came home from school and started talking about "golden birthdays." This is coming from elementary students so it is not a 50th birthday like I assumed. Rather, a Golden birthday is a the birthday that falls on the day of the month you were born. For example. I was born on the 1st so my golden birthday was when I was one year old. Margaret was enchanted..he excitement was unbearable till her golden birthday! "When would this blessed day occure?" was the question on this impatient 3 year old. Alas, 26 more years was the reality.

She also loves the Bernstein Bears! We read multiple every day to her. One book is called Bernstein Bears and the Golden Rule. In it, Sister gets a golden locket for her birthday with the golden rule engraved on it. Margaret wanted one and that is definatly something I can get behind.

Throwing rules to the wind like dust we planned a gold themed party! Maggie loved it. She got a locket of her very own, some more Bernstein Bear books, and served water in her tea set she painted herself. A happy day for our 5 year old!
