Picnic & Swim

I was anxious to get out of the apartment and Kelly didn't want to spend money so we went to a nearby park and ate our tuna sandwiches. Then we went swimming in our complex pool. Clara is really starting to love the water. The first photo is an imitation of an other photographer's project called Crawl. I thought is was a cool project and plus her name is Sally. Check it out here.

Popsicles

I have been making these Popsicles a lot here in Rancho Cucamonga. It is hot and they are a nice treat to cool down with. Lots of flavor and a nice texture. My good friend Sam Hardcastle gave me the recipe. If your kids need a cool snack they will love these.

1 small packages of Jello (If you have the large packages double everything else)
1 package of Kool Aid
1 cup sugar
2 cups hot water
2 cups cold water

Combine Jello, Kool Aid, sugar and hot water and stir till completely dissolved. Pour and stir in cold water. Pour into form and let freeze. Run under hot water when pulling from form. Have fun doing different combinations of Jello and Kool Aid. Thanks Sam!

Circles

The Getty

Kelly really like seeing James Ensor's Christs entry into Brussels. I really liked the garden this time. Every security guard said hi to Clara and a Japanese lady said that she was the masterpiece.

Clara around the apartment

I really like all the light in our apartment. I also really like my two new chairs that I got for 49 bucks each. Clara is getting so close to walking.

Moonlight Beach

It was kind of overcast but we still had a great time. We forgot Clara's swimsuit and she got sunscreen in her eyes. She was pretty miserable until we got her out in the ocean. I was worried that the moving water would scare her but she really liked it. She could see the waves coming and would point at them. We want to go back as often as we can.

Independance day

The 4th of July was busy for us. 1st we went to the stake breakfast, then to a park where the girls in our ward put on kind of a parade for the children. They had decorated bikes and candy to through and water balloons. It was really cute! Then Kass and Allen had us over for lunch. Kass made us patriotic ribbon salad, pork ribs, hot dogs, baked beans and corn on the cob. So good. After lunch we drove down to Uncle Jim's. Aunt Sandy made carna esadas and we played games the rest of the night. Good times!

Souvenier

I love these little ear hats so we got one for Clara. I wanted to get one for Kelly too but he said no. Maybe next time.

Disneyland

Our first full day living in California was spent in Disneyland. It was Kelly's, Seth's and Clara's first time going. We all really had a very nice time riding rides and eating lunch. It was very memorable.

Dinosar Eggs

Actually these dinosaur eggs are really called Concretions. On our way back from Boulder we had a great time hunting them. They are formed from Iron separating from the sand and forming a shell. I wish I understood more of the particulars but I don't. Kelly really enjoyed this part of our trip!
