Comparing

A heavy line on the top and a heavy line on the bottom.
Cold and Warm.
There are other differences and similarities that I like to think about.

Change

Miss Margaret is learning and growing every day. Similar to my other children she started her life a little reserved and observant. Choosing to be a watcher. She scoped things out before she made herself known to me. She has changed. Now she is a player. She laughs, and runs and joins all the fun confident that she can participate. She dances, jumps, tries to tell jokes, she can even make fun of herself. She is a delight.

Uncle James

During the 24 hours that James was here he...
Had quiet reading.
Sang Alanis Morissette's Ironic.
Shared our appreciation for sagebrush.
Ate Peach Jell-O and lemon bars, but missed the peach flip.
Watched Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog.
Played Geotrax.
Helped Clara with her homework.
Walked up City Creek
Was mistaken for a slacker husband by a man with a long beard
Got 12 hours of sleep.

So, tons of fun.
Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to show your love. I love you-we all love you so much.

Pulled Teeth

In the last month Clara has had a lot of dental work. Not very glamorous stuff. But she has been really proud of these teeth. They needed to be pulled to make room for her big teeth. Clara took them to school and had great time sharing them will everyone. Even this blog post is on her request!

Our Ward Party

The ward party was such a blast. I couldn't believe how many fun thing there were to do and people to watch. I liked seeing Brian and Dash taking a horse ride, the Missionaries playing volleyball, Yebin using her hanging skills, and Kris winning the sack race, Abby, Ryan, and Livvy waiting for there turn. Plus the food, there is nothing like home made root beer. I made some brownies that had Oreos baked in them. Yum! I would call it a huge success.

Preschool

John is growing up so nicely. I love being with him. He is kind, sensitive, smart, fun and a hard worker. The other day we were going out to the garage and he opened the door for Margaret and me and said "After you." I was floored. I know he didn't learn it from me but I was so pleased that he picked it up. We anticipate this being another wonderful year of learning and growth.  Plus, after about 3.5 years of researching Montessori I finally have a child of mine in a Montessori school!

FYI, I love the blog How We Montessori. Check it out if you are up for it.

Mushrooms

It has been a really rainy summer. I have never seen so many mushrooms in Idaho.

Best Birthday

Kelly, the sweetheart, started the day by making a great breakfast. After I spent the morning happily washing walls, vacuuming, and doing laundry. Kelly ran errands and fixed the car. Honestly is was wonderful. Kelly hadn't been home for a day like that in ages so it was a real change of pace. Later we met up with the Mayos and went on walk up Scout Mountain. Just what I like to do! Clara brought her new umbrella that she has been taking everywhere. We found a cool tree arching over the path that the kids climbed on and hung from. I received many phone calls and fun messages on Facebook. It was my best birthday ever!
