Small Scholars
Small Scholars Pre School has been such a fun thing for John. He has grown so much this year and Kelly and I are so proud of him. McKenzie was so great and the Show What You Know was so fun to watch. John performed in a skit, recited several poems and sang songs. I really feel blessed that John was able to be a part of something so great.

Grandma's House
We had a wonderful time at Grandma's house on the Sunday before last. The photos don't really show the whole experience though. The children had a great time playing duck duck goose and running around with the cousins. We ate pulled pork and potato salad and some type of yummy cookie bar that Julie made. Joe, Carl and Josie talked about family history. But mostly we talked and had a good time just being with family. I am so glad to be a part of the Anderson Family.

Tulips 2
They have come a long way since March.
The first one reminds me of the Sistine Chapel, Adam and God.
Key word: Reminds
I love the glow that the neighboring yellow tulip gives to the red one.

Soccer
I am sad to say soccer is over. It was just adorable. It was amazing to see how much all the children on the Blue Sharks improved over such a short amount of time. My cheer skills came back especially when MY SON scored four goals in this last game! Before bed I asked him if he had a fun time scoring goals, he said "No, I was sweaty."

The Happy Egg
There was a little little bird.
It was just born out of its mother
--still was an egg.
It couldn't sing.
It couldn't walk.
It couldn't fly.
It could just get sat on.
So it got sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and sat on
and one day, POP! out it came
--could sing, could walk , could learn to fly
--could someday sit on other happy eggs.

As a reward for keeping an eye on her chickens, my excellent friend Jaime let me have some of her awesome eggs! Aren't they lovely?

Year End Recital
I am always so proud of Clara. She was hindered by a cast for three weeks, resulting in only being able to listen to the music and practice bow exercises. She got her cast off hours before the recital and played so well. So well I doubt anyone thought there was any issue at all. She really stepped up. She is supremely capable and very relaxed in front of people. Like I said. I am a proud Mom.

Cast OFF
It was a short two weeks. We are hoping that slowly her range of motion will come back. Her muscles are pretty stiff. The nurses were kind yet inexperienced in the cast removal department. I could have given good feedback, but we went for the patient route instead.

Lilies of the Valley
White Coral Bells
Upon a slender stalk,
Lilies of the valley deck my garden walk.
Oh, don't you wish that you might hear them ring?
That will happen only when the fairies sing.

Up Hill
We started to try to climb to some cool rocks that we had seen on a drive. It turned out to be to windy for Margaret and too steep to climb on(Seen in first photo.) We abandoned it and went to City Creek again. We watched some bugs and generally had a nice time walking.

Water Beads
It has been fun to have these beads. You should hear Margaret squeal! Even Kelly gets them down to feel them. I was delighted when John noticed that a bead arrangement looked like his Ukulele cords. Seeing children connect things like that makes parenting so delightful.

Bed Time
Keep a poem in your pocket
and a picture in your head
and you'll never feel lonely
at night when you are in bed
The little poem will sing to you
the little picture bring to you
a dozen dreams to dance to you
at night when you're in bed
So-
keep a picture in your pocket
and a poem in your head
and you'll never feel lonely
at night when you're in bed.

Sweet Dreams
I wonder as into bed I creep
What it feels like to fall asleep.
I’ve told myself stories, I’ve counted sheep,
But I’m always asleep when I fall asleep.
Tonight my eyes I will open keep,
And I’ll stay awake till I fall asleep,
Then I’ll know what it feels like to fall asleep,
Asleep,
Asleeep,
Asleeeep…

Jenny Kissed Me
I had read this poem several times in my younger life and I didn't really see why people liked it. I think I thought the rhyme was dumb, the content ordinary and the ending incomplete. I am not sure what has changed in me, and I don't know when, but I know it is for the better. I get it and love it. The rhyme is lovely and it is so far from trite.
Jenny kissed me when we met,
Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I'm weary, say I'm sad,
Say that health and wealth have missed me,
Say I'm growing old, but add,
Jenny kissed me.
