Los Angels

We tried to take this trip the day of the earthquake (the 29th of July) but I basically got lost, traffic was really bad, and there was a motorcycle accident directly in front of us so we tried again on Monday. We had a good time walking around Grauman's Chinese Theatre, lunch at the Farmers Market and visiting the LA temple afterwords. At the theatre I thought It was interesting that my feet were tiny compared to Will Smith's, a little bigger the Gene Kelly's, and huge compared to Shirley Temple's. Fun to know that Will's is the 2nd most recent print and that Charlie Chaplin slab was removed from in front of the theatre in the 1950s, when accusations of communism turned the public opinion against him, and was moved to a family member's home in Eagle Rock and buried in the back yard. It is still there today. Crazy!
The farmers market is so fun. I wish I could eat at every booth. The temple looked beautiful and really big, unfortunately the visitors center was closed for remodel.
Kelly really was there. Sorry he is not pictured.

You made it to downtown LA. Did you go to the walk of stars? How neat that you saw Shirley Temple's block thingy. Isn't the temple so pretty. I was amazed how all of a sudden it is there off the road. It was a surprise to Mike and I when we were there. I wish we could have walked around though. Clara is so cute and I love your glasses.

You are one of the cutest people on EARTH. I am serious. I took a poll and you were in like the top 4000. If you consider all the people in the world top 4000 is really cute. Ohh and the poll also included children and baby panda's... so you know I am serious. I love and miss your whole family but you are special miss Sally.

How sad the visitor center wasn't open. Did they still have their Women's exhibit outside. There are figurines and you can push the buttons and each tells a story about a women in the church. It's way neat. Ryan and I were there when we were engaged and he got all teary eyed and finally appreciated me for the woman I am, a very special and unique daughter of God. I'm hoping his opinion has grown in that respect in the last 5 years ;) It was a way neat exhibit and if they still have it, it would be well worth your time!
I'm so glad that you're not far from a temple, and I hope you're able to visit often.
Ry and I have renewed our efforts!
