Kelly found this Praying Mantis in our stairwell.

The quote "The goblins will get you if you don't watch out!" is from a poem written by James Riley named Little Orphan Annie. My Dad would recite it to us before bed. It is one of my favorites. Read it! It is perfect for Halloween.

Yesterday we went down to Newport Beach with the Evans. Clara has a new favorite word is boat! So I took her on the Farris Wheel so she could get a better view of all the boats around Balboa Island. Then we all had lunch and played in the sand. It was chilly but we still had a great time. I was glad that we could do something together with our husbands!
I have been making these the last three years for Halloween. Fun, cute and low cost. If you want to try them be sure to put the bag seam down the back. I double up the bags so you can glue the details on and you can't see the candle. I am not a great drawer so I use templates and trace the patterns on. I think I am going to make more. Try it!
HaHaHa. Normally I don't do tags but I was curious when my sister in law Stephanie asked me to do this one. This is how it works.

The last several Wednesdays Clara and I have been getting together with my good friend Michelle and her son Coleman. We have gone swimming, had dinner together and gone to Bonelli Park. Today we went to a waterfall by Mt. Baldy. Coleman started playing in the water no problem but Clara never really warmed up to it. Actually she was only really happy eating snacks on my lap and playing at there house. So no cute photos of her getting soaked, only Colman! He is so fun and adventuresome. Thanks for showing us around Michelle!

Thursday Kelly came home with a small little gift for Clara. It was a Giant Microbe that he got at the school bookstore. This is saccharomyces cerevisiae. It's Latin name means "sugar fungus of the beer." It contains special enzymes that turn sugar molecules into carbon dioxide and alcohol. One yeast can turn into 1,000,000 in only six hours. The toy is 1,000,000 times yeasts actual size. Clara loves it and I think it is so clever. Kelly is so nice!

Today Kelly and Allen participated in the Pomona Parade that was held in the LA County Fair. It was the first day of the fair so there were a lot of people. It was so fun to see them all in there coats and how the crowd reacted to them. Some would yell out "free health care" or "would you look at my shoulder?" We had a really good time.
I didn't think it would be framed this fast but I want to show the complete project. A little redundant I know.
