Cracked eggs

Clara, Misha and I dyed eggs together. Many of the eggs didn't even make it out of the dye before they got cracked. I showed them how it worked and the whole batch was done in two minutes. You should have heard the ooh when I pulled out the first egg. They loved it. I can't wait till next year!

Eastering

We had a great time as always. We had the picnic with taco salad and the Easter bunny cookies. We had an Egg hunt and an egg roll down the gorgeous red sand. Clara's attention was grabbed when I told her about the crying rock (Weeping Rock), "It was so so sad." We walked down the narrows to the poly wog pond. Even though curves were thrown in I couldn't be happier about the day.

More photos of Grandma's home

To add to the collection. I love my Grandmas home. It has a great lay out. The living room can be arranged to have an intimate conversation or fit all my extended family. The hall takes you any where you want to go. The built-in's in the bedrooms are awesome. The downstairs still scares me and everyone I know. Some things have there place and others float around and get changed every time you come. It is always decorated for the season. It evolves and is eclectic. Values are taught in this house. Family, love, music, Gospel, family, patriotism, leadership, family, beauty, and a love of nature and people. People come hungry and go fed and rested. It has been the only house that has remained a part of my whole life. It has always been there. But overall, everything that it is, is because of what my Grandma has made it to be. I love the home because I love my Grandma.

Rhododendron and Calalily

I was amazed with the Rhododendron. It looked like it was covered in glitter. Fine, gorgeous glitter. And it the morning light it looked like diamonds. I am amazed by the flora southern California has to offer on a daily basis.

Black and White

This last photo is wild licorice. I think it is so interesting how geometric plants can be.

Color

I think the first one looks like fireworks. The second was taken a while back. The other three were taken on Saturday at a lagoon by Uncle Jimmy's house.

Sun

Kelly let Clara pick this daisy from the landscaping at the mall. It looks like a mass of incandescent gas.

I'll Love You Forever

Some more "baby" John photos. Look at that chapped cheek! I have been enjoying some of those I'll Love you Forever moments when you just sit and hold your sleeping baby. I don't get them as often as I want but I eat them up when they come. Have you ever heard that John Lennon song Beautiful Boy? I had never thought of a boy as being beautiful before John came into my life.

Baby

In the last post of John he looked so grown up. So I thought I would take some photos that made him look like the baby that he is.

Cinderella

As a little girl my Grandma Dorothy had this Big Golden Book copy of Cinderella and I just loved it. The illustrations appealed to me in particular. I search for a while to find the big copy and I am so glad because Clara loves it just as much as I did. It makes me really happy to share books that I love with her.

Look Mom, Look!

With the doctor clearing me for daily activities we took it easy and just went outside today. We had a great time exploring. The weather was so nice. Clara is getting really curious and really liked popping the berries. I was a little bugged when she poked her finger in and smashed my mushroom.

At last a photo of a butterfly. I love that they look just as good in black and white as they do in color. But who would not want to see it in color? I sure admire them but I don't know anything about them beyond the basics. So I will give a print of your choice to the first person that can tell me name of this particular butterfly.

My Handsome Boy

Kelly calls this the monkey suit and today Clara did the same. It made me giggle.

Miscellaneous

I haven't been able to take any photos so I have been looking back. These are some images that got missed the first time. The first was taken in Idaho, second was taken here on route 66 and was the inspiration for The Cozy Cone in Cars.. The third and fourth were taken my Uncle Jim's home. I like the last one because it surprising.
