Low Tide

It is really fun to go to low tides. The one down side is that we had to get up early but it is well worth it. The Sea Urchins photograph is kind of in fond remembrance of Jessica Whitton. Man, I will miss her.

Portland Chinese Gardens

I particularly like the Chinese garden because we got to learn a little bit more about Chinese culture and style. I didn't know that Chinese people don't like to see the whole view rather they like to see a little bit a time. Also they belief that demons can only walk in strait lines so they have zigzag walk ways so philosopher can think and ponder. I think this last photo looks like wrapping paper.

Oregon Gardens

We stopped by the Oregon Gardens in Silverton. They were very beautiful but ended up making Dad, Kelly, and Lauren sniffle from the pollen.

Crabs

At Newport we went on the ship Discovery, a commical boat that gives tourists the opportunity to go out on the ocean on a crab boat of sorts and look for whales, sea lions and other things. On the way they show you how to fish for crabs. The first photo show my sister Lauren and my brother James holding dead fish to put in the trap. We caught several and played with them. Later in the week we brought one home and ate it. The legs are the best part.

Cape Perpetua

This Cape was named Perpetua because when Capitan Cook was sailing around the west coast they got in a storm and they perpetually came back to this same Cape. I am sure they got really tired of seeing it.

Sea Lions

On our first official day in Oregon we went around to many of the Parks that included the biggest Sea Lion cave in the world. It is normally packed with them. You can't look into it directly unless you are on a boat of course so they built a elevator so you can view them in the cave. They don't allow flash photography and you have to shoot through a changed fence but I kind of like the long exposure. I wish I would have had a tripod....

Hailey

On the 15, the Thursday before we left for Oregon I spent the day with my niece Hailey. She is 5. We had a great time. We had lunch, played clue with some new rules that I didn't know, played on PBS kids online, put make-up on each other (as you see in the first photo) and swung on the tire swing. I get sick on them so I did the pushing. She got a little sun burnt and cried when she play anymore.

Baby James

This is my new little nephew James. He is really cute and sweet. He sleeps a lot and look so much like his Dad, Kip and all the Denning boys. It is great to have him in the family!

Mom's Garden

These are some photographs taken in my Mom's garden. She works so hard to make it look so nice and it has really payed off.

Birthday calendar

I am making a birthday calendar for my mom. I need one more for June. I don't know what to put for it. When I finished the text and everything I will post it again.

Mink Creek

Kelly and I went to Preston today with his parents for Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to see Grandma Jepsen. It is a beautiful up there!

My Apartment

This is my apartment... I like it a lot. I would like to make sure that I take a photo of all the places that Kelly and I will live in our life. We live on the top left and our car is the car that is featured. As you can see, I parked on the line. Opps!

Trailer Home

I was poking around and went in to a trailer park. I found it actually really picturesque. These were both in one backyard. How many Garden figures can you get? This was just one little area. There were tons more.

Slide

I guess this is like that assignment that Brother Clark gave us where you take one object and you concentrate on it and see what you come up with. I think I like these photos because I remember it smelled like lilacs when I took them.

Emma

A new little arrival came into our Family Home Evening group. She is a lot of fun. I took this photo a while ago. I have decided that taking photos of infants are really challenging but when you get a good one it is really rewarding.

Windy

It has been really windy lately... I really like the way willows move in the wind.

Paladium/Platinum Prints

For photo history I did a series of 7 still lifes of plants that were up in the greenhouse here on campus. I attempted to do them with real 4x5 negatives but it had so many problems that I just broke down and did them digitally. I printed of digital negavites using a special type of transpareny called pictorico. Then I painted on a paladium solution onto a watercolor type of paper. Then exposed it to uv light and develped it. I really liked the brush strokes and I was pleased with how the yellow stain came out. I got an A on the project

Bannok

On March 25 I took a trip to a ghost town in Montana called Bannok. It is just a bunch of old homes and buildings. I was thinking of a different image when Julie asked this girl if I could take her photographs. She seemed so scared when I actually got the camera infront of her that i ditched the first idea and just to a portrait. I am amazed as how big her eyes are. I told Julie after that she picked a good one.

Greenhouse again

I took these photographs yesterday. I am planning on making digital negitives out of them and make some sweet plateium prints. I hope they will work.

Montana

I don't think that Kelly and I went all the way to Montana but we got pretty close. I was glad he came with and he wasn't as buggy as he could have been.

Greenhouse

I am taking History of Photography and instead of writing a paper I am doing a photo project. I desided that I was going to copy Imogen Cunningham and take photographs of plants. I went up to the Greenhouse here on campus and had a feild day. it was really fun but brother clark didn't tell me about bellows extention so the negatives are all really thin. This was the best and I touched it up quite a bit on photoshop. It is a type of Catus.

Mill Creek Cayon

This is the photography that I took when I went down to Salt Lake for my sister Lauren's baby shower. Brandy did it for her and i think everyone had a good time. I went up and I saw a lot of opportunites for great shots but I didn't have a light meter so i only took one and bracketed. Brother Clark said I guessed pretty close.

Round Town

Kellly and I recieved the ol' Bonneville from Carl and Julie. It is really exciting for two reasons, one that we won't have to put as many miles on the Allero and two that i will get to use the Allero for photographing.
